GTA VI on your phone? A former Rockstar developer says the technology already exists
Six weeks before launch, only PS5 and Xbox are confirmed. But a developer who worked on the game until 2020 thinks a phone version is not science fiction.
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has announced no other platform, and no mobile version.
Still, Jérémy Hartvick, who worked on GTA 6 until 2020, told YouTuber Kiwi Talkz in September: if Rockstar put its mind to it, you could be playing GTA 6 on your phone, because the technology exists and has been proven. He also pointed at streaming as a way to put the game on many platforms. On a Switch 2 port he was more doubtful, because the two audiences barely overlap.
So, with phone chips doubling every couple of years and cloud play getting better each month, do you think we will have these games on our phones? Our answer is this whole website. Tell us yours.
