Offline PC games for Android: classics you can play with no internet in 2026
On a plane, on the metro or anywhere the signal drops: which ways of playing PC games on a phone keep working without a connection, which PC classics on Zodita play offline, and what to do before you lose the signal.
Most ways of playing PC games on a phone quietly assume you are online. That is fine at home on Wi-Fi, and useless on a long flight, in a tunnel or in a town with a weak signal. If you want PC classics that keep running when the internet does not, the way the game reaches your phone matters more than the game itself.
Why most PC-on-phone options need the internet
Cloud services such as GeForce NOW or Xbox Cloud Gaming run the game on a server and send video to your phone, so they stop the moment the connection drops, and an hour of play uses a lot of mobile data. Streaming from your own PC needs the PC switched on and a steady link to it. Compatibility layers such as Winlator run locally and can work offline, but many PC games still expect a launcher, an online account check or anti-cheat, and the setup itself needs the PC files and time.
How a native port plays offline
A native port is the game rebuilt to run as an ordinary Android app on the phone's own processor and graphics chip. On Zodita you install each port through the Zodita app. The internet is needed to sign in, to download and to update; after the install the game plays offline. Zodita publishes unofficial community ports; they are not affiliated with or endorsed by the original publishers.
PC classics on Zodita that play offline
- Half-Life 2 Mobile: free, in testing, about 1.9 GB
- Skyrim Mobile demo: about 1.7 GB
- Call of Duty 4 (MDW1 Mobile) demo: about 915 MB
- BioShock Mobile demo: about 170 MB
- Max Payne Mobile, early access: about 200 MB
- Max Payne 2 Mobile, early access: about 320 MB
- F.E.A.R. Mobile, early access: about 1.1 GB
- PichBaz, our own 3D screw puzzle: about 80 MB
Before you go offline: a short checklist
- Download and install the games on Wi-Fi, not on mobile data
- Install every pending update in the Zodita app before you leave
- Start each game once while you are still online, so any first-run step finishes
- Keep about twice the download size free during the install
- Charge the phone fully and pack a power bank for long trips
- Test it: switch on airplane mode at home and start the game
What still needs a connection
Signing in for the first time, downloading a new game, installing updates and buying a game all need the internet. Anything that is streamed instead of installed, including cloud gaming, needs it the whole time. Once a port is installed and up to date, the game itself does not.
Half-Life 2, Skyrim, Call of Duty, BioShock, Max Payne and F.E.A.R. are trademarks of their respective owners. The ports on Zodita are unofficial community ports and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the publishers.
