Half-Life 2 Android APK: the real way to get Half Life 2 Mobile
There is no Half-Life 2 APK from Valve for phones: the 2014 Android release was for NVIDIA Shield devices only. Half Life 2 Mobile is Zodita's unofficial community port for ordinary Android phones, and its first three chapters are a free demo; the full game is on pre-order. It does not come as a loose APK file to sideload; it installs through the Zodita app, which verifies the download and keeps the game updated.
Why it is not a single APK file
Half Life 2 Mobile is about 2.3 GB of game data on top of an open-source Source engine port for ARM phones. The Zodita app downloads it in verified parts, installs the game as its own app and later downloads only what changed. Sites offering a «Half-Life 2 APK + OBB» for phones are repackaging the old Shield build, something unrelated, or malware. Do not install them.
How to install Half Life 2 Mobile on Android
Create a free Zodita account on zodita.com. Install the Zodita app for Android from zodita.com/app. Sign in, open Half Life 2 Mobile in your library, tap Install and wait for the download. What your phone needs
Android 8 or newer, a 64-bit chip, 4 GB of memory and about 3 GB of free storage for the game. Half-Life 2 is lighter than Skyrim: most phones from the last five years run it well. A Bluetooth controller is optional.
What about the NVIDIA Shield version?
Valve and NVIDIA released Half-Life 2 and its episodes for Shield tablets and Shield TV in 2014. That build is tied to Shield hardware and was never available for normal phones; APK copies of it floating around do not run on current Android and were never licensed for other devices. Half Life 2 Mobile is a separate, unofficial community port by Zodita, not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve.
