AION 2 goes free-to-play worldwide and lands in Steam's top five
NCSoft's MMORPG opened to everyone on October 5 after five days of early access. On Steam it passed 380,000 players at once.
AION 2, NCSoft's sequel to the 2008 MMORPG, launched worldwide as a free-to-play game on October 5, 2026, on Steam and NCSoft's PURPLE launcher.
Founder's Pack owners started five days earlier, on September 30. The game had already launched in Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025.
On Steam it climbed straight into the most-played chart, with more than 380,000 players at the same time this week. The live chart is on our World games page.
