Is Max Payne 2 available for Android? What exists, what does not, and how to play it on a phone
Max Payne 2 never got an official mobile release. Zodita's Max Payne 2 Mobile is an unofficial rebuild that runs on Android today in early access. Here is what the build covers, how big it is and what the touch controls do.
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne came out on PC and consoles in 2003. The first Max Payne was released for phones in 2012, and people have asked ever since whether the sequel would follow. It has not, officially. What does exist is Max Payne 2 Mobile on Zodita: a community rebuild that plays the original game's levels on an Android phone.
Is there an official Max Payne 2 for Android?
No. Only the first Max Payne received an official mobile version. There is no official Max Payne 2 app on Google Play and no announced release date. Sites offering a Max Payne 2 APK download are usually repackaged PC files meant for Winlator, or worse. Max Payne 2 Mobile is an unofficial community rebuild by Zodita, not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Remedy Entertainment.

How it plays on a touch screen
Bullet time is the heart of Max Payne 2, so the controls are built around it. You hold fire and slide to aim, a dedicated button triggers the shootdodge in slow motion, and a layout editor lets you move and resize every button. Enemies use the original AI commands, with the original weapons, painkillers, jumps, dodges and falling damage.
Recent builds fixed the issues reported in the first outside test: bodies fall properly, reload and the aim button respond as expected, subtitles and lip sync are in time, the rain loops correctly and doors behave. It is still early access, so expect rough edges in later chapters as they are added.
Size and phones
The build downloads at about 300 MB and installs as its own app through the Zodita app. It needs Android 8 or newer, 4 GB of memory and about 500 MB of free storage. After the install it plays offline, and updates download only what changed.
