The Witcher 3 mobile demo is on Zodita now, three days early
The free Kaer Morhen demo of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Android phones is in the Zodita app from today, October 21, instead of October 24. Here is what it contains, how big it is and how to get it.
We said October 24. The build was ready early, so it is out today: the first free demo of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Android, running on the phone itself, is in the Zodita app now.
What the demo contains
Version 0.2.0 covers Kaer Morhen, the opening chapter of the game: the prologue and the tutorial, with Geralt, Vesemir and Ciri in the witcher keep, up to the end of the chapter. It is an early build. Expect rough edges in animation and controls; the point of releasing it now is to get it on real phones.
White Orchard, the first open region, is the next milestone. The full game follows and can be pre-ordered now; pre-order buyers get it 2 days before its public release.
Size and phones
The download is about 1.1 GB and the demo needs around 3 GB free. Our target is a mid-range Android phone with 6 GB of RAM on Android 10 or newer. The Witcher 3 is a heavy game, so older phones will struggle; if our Skyrim Mobile demo runs well on yours, that is a good sign.
How to get it
Install the Zodita app, sign in, open The Witcher 3 Mobile and tap Download. The demo installs as its own app and updates through Zodita. It is free for every Zodita player; the pre-order is only for the full game.
